Images of Research Competition 2017

The 2017 Images of Research competition closes this Friday 10th March, dont miss your chance to enter! All the information you require regarding the competition is below. 

What is the Images of Research Competition?

The Images of Research Competition showcases the research taking place at the University of Lincoln. Participants are asked to submit a unique image, along with an abstract of 150 words describing how the image reflects their research.

Who can participate?

Any staff member or student can participate who is undertaking research at the University of Lincoln.

Prizes

The winning entries will be decided by a panel of Staff and Students representative of the University.
•Overall winner receives £100 amazon voucher
•People Choice Winner £100 amazon voucher
• All entries will be part of an exhibition where all images will be developed into posters for display

How to Enter 

Download the checklist and Application form HERE and return the completed application form with your image to graduateschool@lincoln.ac.uk before the closing date Friday 10th March 2017

We are moving office to join Research and Enterprise

Thursday 2nd – Friday 3rd March

The Graduate School team is moving to Research and Enterprise to join the Research and Income Generation Support team and will be based in the Enterprise Building on the second floor, office E23.

This new structure will provide integrated support for Research and Knowledge Exchange, co-ordination of Graduate Support, REF and developing our research environment.

Our move will take place on Thursday the 2nd and Friday 3rd of March, so we will have limited availability over these days, but we look forward to seeing you in our new location from Monday 6th March onwards.

3 Minute Thesis Competition – Enter Today

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition for 2017 is now open for applicants, don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this world wide competition.

What is the 3 Minute Thesis Competition?

3 Minute Thesis (3MT) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland which challenges research students to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance in JUST three minutes in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. The competition is held in at least 170 universities across more than 17 countries worldwide.

How does it work?

Each university host their own competition with the winner going forward to represent their university in the National UK Online Semi-final in July 2017 hosted by Vitae. The top six finalists are then selected and go on to the UK final which takes place during the Vitae Researcher Development International Conference in September 2017.

How to Enter

If you would like to enter the University of Lincoln 3MT competition please click HERE for more information and to download an application form.

Please note the closing date for this competition is Friday 31st March 2017, you will also need to be available to attend the UoL 3MT final on Wednesday 10th May.
